J&J’s Story
Originated in 1981 by Jim and Jeanne Votaw, J&J Oil Field & Electrical Service began as a service company specializing in the Oil & Gas industry performing construction and maintenance. Mr. Votaw’s area of expertise was electrical, but as the business evolved he became adept in the skills needed to remain competitive in an industry that required innovation and determination to survive. During the oil boom in the early 80’s the company maintained as many as 20 employees at various locations in Oklahoma. In 1986, oil prices dropped and the company was forced to down size and diversify to survive.
In 1994 while working on a gas well in western Oklahoma, Mr. Votaw was made aware of the challenges producers are faced with when aging gas wells lose pressure and begin to load with water, decreasing production and sales of natural gas. An operator mentioned that if soap sticks did not require so much labor they would be a very efficient method of fluid removal. Mr. Votaw’s mechanical and electrical skills enabled him to create a method to dispense soap sticks that would evolve into the original Automatic Soap Stick Launcher. With limited knowledge of marketing, J&J spent the ensuing years proving the concept and improving the original proto-type. Attending trade shows, documenting successes, and receiving recognition from Oil & Gas Industry magazines and newspaper articles have helped build name recognition and a solid reputation in the field.
In 2001, the company began to develop the product to be used with the Automatic Soap Stick Launcher. Working with a chemical company, J&J developed their own surfactants in the form of soap sticks. By 2003, J&J’s knowledge of the industry led to consulting and problem solving in an industry that is once again booming. This led to the decision to diversify and change the structure of the company from a sole proprietorship to an LLC leading them to their new name, J&J Solutions, LLC. We are now positioned as an established energy related business during a time of immense growth in the Oil & Gas Industry.
In 2008 at the Denver De-liquefaction Conference, Mr. Votaw introduced the AirMax Solar Powered Air Control Unit Patent Pending #DKT. OKCO1438. Since that time, J&J has spent countless hours in remote locations all across the nation assessing needs and adapting this unique product to meet the requirements of large or small applications in all climates and conditions. Operating equipment with a clean air supply rather than well gas saves money and eliminates emissions. As with all J&J’s products we work with the customer by having a variety of units to operate all sizes of equipment. Indications are that this latest product will be a popular item. J&J has a great team of dedicated employees and are gearing up to meet the challenge.
