White Max sticks contain JJ-FSC-2135 an active high-foaming surfactant, capable of foaming in high levels of brine and small amounts of condensate. They are primarily used in well applications to lighten standing columns of water. The surfactant gel is encased in a water soluble tube. For wells with more than 75% condensate, we recommend using the Oil Max stick.
The stick will normally dissolve in 40 to 120 minutes depending on temperature, salt content and relative water motion. The melting point of the sick is 130° F. The stick will dissolve at a slower rate in wells with a bottom hole temperature below 130° F. The fall rate through fresh water is approximately 100 feet per minute.
White Max sticks are highly concentrated and should be used accordingly. The White Max can produce up to three times more foam than other sticks on the market. The entire stick is water soluble. The number of sticks that should be used varies, but based on field studies we found that using an initial slug treatment consisting of .5 to 1 lb of stick per BBL of fluid above the perforations provides an adequate amount of foamer to get the well to unload without causing the well to foam lock. By removing one BBL of water in 2 3/8 tubing you reduce the hydrostatic pressure by 100psi. In most cases this reduction in pressure is enough to allow the well to unload.
Once the initial treatment has been performed it is critical to keep the fluid constantly unloaded to prevent the well from logging off. To do this the well must be evaluated after a stick has been dropped to determine the amount of time it takes for the well to spend the stick. Once the well responds to the stick and unloads the initial fluid, the flow rate will increase. When the flow rate drops about 25% an additional stick needs to be dropped to keep the well unloaded. By doing this you are evaluating the time intervals between stick drops. In cases where wells require multiple drops throughout the day the Automatic Soap Stick Launcher gives the operator continuous injection of soap sticks throughout the day and night constantly keeping the well unloaded.
